Dubai is the most popular tourist destination in the Middle East, and with so many world-famous attractions it’s easy to see why. So, what are the best sightseeing places in Dubai?
There are world-record breaking buildings, theme parks, expansive malls and luxury resorts to explore - so where do you start? We’ve listed our top Dubai sightseeing recommendations that should set you on the right track for your next visit:
Burj Khalifa - Downtown
The world’s tallest tower does not disappoint and is definitely one of the best sightseeing places in Dubai. There are several experiences to choose from – including At The Top which gives access to floors 124 and 125, and At The Top SKY which gives additional access to level 144 along with additional attractions. Go for a record breaking visit to this 830m high tower with a unique design inspired by the Hymenocallis desert flower. Set in the heart of Downtown Dubai with Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain on its doorstep, the Burj Khalifa makes for a great location to visit and tick off several of Dubai’s icons in one go.
Kite beach is popular spot with tourists and locals alike, you can even see the Burj Al Arab as you walk along the shore. The area boasts an extensive coastal walkway with cafes and loungers along the beachfront. You can rent a paddleboard, take a kitesurfing lesson or watch skaters do tricks on the ramps in the skatepark. There are plenty of facilities for families, and all the beach areas are patrolled for your safety, just don’t forget your sunblock. It’s ok to wear normal swimwear while at the beach, just remember to cover up once you leave the shore.
Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah is world-famous for its unique shape and size, and is another of the best sightseeing places in Dubai. Visit one of the five-star hotels for lunch or head to one of the luxury beach clubs for an afternoon relaxing in the sun. There’s an 11km pedestrian boardwalk along the outside which is dotted with food trucks and free for people to access. While you won’t really get a true feel for the Palm at ground level, it’s a completely different story from the sky. We recommend taking one of our scenic seaplane tours which will give you amazing views of this incredible island, as well as other Dubai icons.
The Dubai Frame is perfectly perched between Dubai’s historic centre and modern Downtown heart, and one of the newest attractions in the city. Standing at 150m high, the Dubai Frame gives visitors excellent views across the city. The two towers are connected by a generous observation deck where you can drink in Dubai’s old and new world developments. It’s hard to miss the striking gold cladding and unique design, making this a must-visit attraction.
Dubai Desert Conservation reserve
No trip to the Emirates is complete without a desert experience, and the Dubai Desert Conservation definitely deserves to be one of the best sightseeing places in Dubai. One of the best ways to explore is to take advantage of Al Maha resort which is located within the Dubai Desert Conservation. We recommend their guided 4WD tour day package. You’ll travel across the rolling dunes and be able to spot native flora and fauna such as camels, gazelles, falcons or even Arabian Oryx. All vehicles are air-conditioned for your comfort, and tours are available year-round.
This is where you can explore Dubai’s past and gain an understanding of the history and culture of the city. You can explore the exotic spice and gold souks, or take a ride across the Creek itself in a traditional Abra Boat. You can see original architecture in the Al Fahidi historical district, and the Dubai Museum is within easy reach. Complete your experience with a traditional Arabic meal, coffee and dates.
