Family days out in Dubai
Kidzania is a special place where kids call the shots and get to role play just like a grown up. There’s a dedicated toddler area for the younger ones, with this theme park open for kids 4 – 16yrs old. Just like in the real world kids are paid for their work, and they can spend their money and go shopping or enjoy some entertainment. There’s even a career advice centre! Don’t worry there are adult ‘Zupervisors’ around helping kids do their jobs and making sure everyone’s having a great time. The under 4yrs have a toddler zone so you can easily entertain a range of ages. For more information visit the Kidzania website

Aquaventure at Atlantis
This is one of the best water parks in the UAE and it’s easy to see why. With more than 17 hectares of fast flowing thrills and spills this makes for a great family outing with dedicated areas for the little ones and enough fast rides to keep the teenagers entertained. Animal lovers will be enchanted by the friendly sea lion and dolphin encounters which include photo and swimming experiences. However, there’s more than enough to keep everyone busy at the waterpark alone. Family passes are available, and often discounted over the hot summer months making this one of the best family days out over the holidays. Visit Aquaventure for more information.
Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo
It’s hard to miss this attraction in Dubai Mall with hoards of people transfixed by the gently swimming sharks and rays. The Dubai Aquarium is one of the biggest with more than 140 species to keep future marine biologists busy. Little mermaids will love the mermaid encounters on offer – from a simple photo to full transformation. The underwater zoo is a fun, educational experience – perfect for curious children who love animals. Marvel at the world’s biggest crocodile and discover the secrets of the night owl, fruit bat, scorpion and spider. There’s even a ‘junior aquarist experience’ allowing kids to get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at life at the aquarium, help feed the animals and get a close view of the shark feeding.
